My foundation for making this product began with the increase in TikTok streaming in 2022. From there I saw that e-sports would increase in demand.
Apart from that the design I made. Departing from a friend's comment who likes to use the TikTok application to see streaming games. He complained that the game display could not be full screen. so it looks small from there I tried to think about making a vertical version of the game. Which in consideration of the game can display the screen share in a fit portrait.
At first I thought why the autobattle game was quite interesting. Because in terms of user experience, especially streamers can do other things. Such as while reading comments or doing other activities.
So that it can make users feel relieved when streaming on platforms such as tiktok or instagram. I tried several games in the form of portraits. Usually it is a relaxing game. By seeing this, the idea came up to make an open world-based game. So users are free to do anything in the game.
Introduction: In this report, I will describe the process and experience in making an auto battle game titled "Mercenaries". This game is designed to solve the anxiety of friends who want to stream TikTok without disturbing the screen display in the live audience. Conduct surveys and interviews with TikTok users to understand their needs and preferences regarding streaming and audience interaction.
Analyzed the trends of popular vertical games on the Google Play Store platform to understand user usage and acceptance of the format.
b. UI/UX Design:
Produce initial sketches and wireframes featuring vertical game views and relevant UI elements.
Implemented a responsive design to allow users to monitor viewers through other devices without interrupting the main streaming screen.
Create a user interface that is intuitive and easy to use, with an auto battle feature that allows users to perform other activities while the in-game stage is running.
IV. Implementation and Testing
Developed an interactive prototype of the game "Mercenaries" using a suitable game development platform.
Conduct internal and external testing to test UI/UX, game performance, and obtain user feedback on features.
